Wells County District Health Unit collaborates with the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services, public safety agencies, and community partners to plan for and respond to disasters or emergencies through local all-hazards planning.
Regional Structure
We are part of an eight-county southeast central region established by North Dakota for emergency preparedness. Counties included in our region are Barnes, Dickey, Foster, Stutsman, LaMoure, Logan, McIntosh, and Wells.
Staffing & Funding
An emergency response coordinator and public information officer serve the eight-county region. Their work receives partial federal grant funding and focuses on public health emergencies through education and planning that strengthens regional response capabilities.
